What you will do

• Explore and develop cavern backfilling, storage, and secondary-use opportunities, including H₂ storage and CAES.
• Provide geomechanical expertise and contribute to numerical simulations for salt-cavern development.
• Support solids handling, backfill materials, and clean return of brine streams.
• Analyse geological and project data, prepare reports, and contribute to project deliverables.
• Track safety, technical issues, permits, required competencies, and barrier-removal actions.
• Apply hirify.global guidelines, external regulations, and AI-based tools responsibly in engineering workflows.

Requirements

• MSc-level education in geophysics, geology, geomechanics, or a related field.
• 0–2 years of experience in mining engineering or R&D.
• Experience with geomechanical modelling and/or finite element modelling for geotechnical problems.
• Experience analysing and interpreting geological data.
• Strong interest in innovation, mining applications, and learning AI-enabled data-analysis tools.
• Availability to work 32–40 hours per week.

Nice to have

• Experience with cavern backfilling, hydrogen storage, CAES, weak brines, or post-saturation applications.
• Experience with advanced numerical simulations for salt caverns.
