Backend Developer (Node.js) with German

Location: Worldwide; remote, office-based, and hybrid work options are available.

Salary: €2,500–€5,000 gross per month; final compensation depends on experience, location, and professional growth.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services with Node.js.
• Build RESTful APIs and GraphQL endpoints, implement business logic, and integrate third-party services.
• Work with SQL and NoSQL databases, including data modeling and query optimization.
• Ensure application performance, reliability, scalability, and security through authentication and authorization practices.
• Write unit and integration tests, participate in code reviews, and troubleshoot backend issues.
• Support CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes while collaborating with frontend developers, QA engineers, and other team members.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience as a Backend Developer using Node.js.
• Strong knowledge of JavaScript ES6+ and/or TypeScript, asynchronous programming, and Node.js internals.
• Experience with NestJS or Express.js, RESTful APIs, and backend services.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases, including PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, or Redis.
• Knowledge of authentication, authorization, security basics, Git, Docker, CI/CD, and automated testing.
• English at Upper-Intermediate level or above and German at Intermediate+ level or above are required.

Nice to have

• Frontend development experience with React or Angular.
• Familiarity with Kafka, Kubernetes, or Jenkins.
