Senior Backend Engineer (AI)

Location: Tel Aviv, Israel; hybrid working environment with in-office and/or in-person expectations

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and RESTful APIs.
• Build cloud-native SaaS solutions for enterprise-scale workloads.
• Architect and operate distributed systems and microservices on Kubernetes.
• Integrate AI services and agentic workflows into core platform capabilities.
• Optimize data models, storage layers, database performance, reliability, security, and system observability.
• Collaborate with product managers, architects, AI engineers, and SRE teams on technical design, code reviews, automation, and CI/CD.

Requirements

• 8+ years of software development experience focused on backend systems.
• Strong proficiency in Node.js and TypeScript.
• Experience building and operating cloud-based SaaS platforms and distributed microservice architectures.
• Deep knowledge of AWS, Kubernetes, containerized workloads, and relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or SQL Server.
• Experience with RESTful APIs, event-driven architectures, GitHub, CI/CD pipelines, and modern software development practices.
• Experience integrating AI services or building AI-powered applications in production, with strong problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud Platform.
• Experience deploying AI/ML workloads, agentic systems, AI orchestration frameworks, RAG architectures, or LLM-based applications.
• Knowledge of observability, monitoring, infrastructure-as-code, automation, security, compliance, and enterprise-scale software requirements.
