Senior Database Administrator / DBA SME

Location: State College, Pennsylvania, United States. U.S. citizenship, an active TS/SCI clearance with FS Polygraph, and an active DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification are required.

What you will do

• Administer, sustain, troubleshoot, and improve relational database management systems supporting operational mission platforms.
• Perform database design, configuration, patching, performance tuning, backup, recovery, replication, and disaster recovery activities.
• Integrate databases with Linux systems, applications, storage, virtualization, networking, and mission services.
• Implement database security controls, auditing, access management, encryption, patching, and system hardening.
• Automate routine administration tasks and support integration, testing, deployment, incident response, and break-fix operations.
• Document configurations and procedures while collaborating with engineers, security personnel, DevOps teams, and mission stakeholders.

Requirements

• 8 or more years of experience in database administration, database engineering, backend data support, or related technical work.
• Experience administering relational databases such as Oracle, Oracle Exadata, PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, or similar enterprise platforms.
• Experience with Linux command-line administration, scripting, database troubleshooting, performance optimization, replication, backups, restores, and application connectivity.
• Experience with database security, audit and compliance requirements, user access, logging, encryption, and system hardening.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen with an active TS/SCI clearance and FS Polygraph.
• Must hold an active DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification, such as CompTIA Security+.

Nice to have

• Experience with Oracle Intelligent Advisor, Oracle Exadata, AWS, NoSQL databases, spatial databases, virtualization, or containerization.
• Experience with SQL, Python, Java, Bash, Perl, PowerShell, PL/SQL, Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Kubernetes, VMware, Git, CI/CD tools, or related technologies.
• Experience working in Agile or Scrum delivery environments and supporting DevSecOps or hybrid infrastructure.
