Application Database Administrator (Oracle APEX & PostgreSQL)

Location: Hybrid-remote, with onsite availability as needed in Suitland, Maryland. Standard business hours align with the Eastern Time Zone. U.S. citizenship and eligibility to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance are required.

Salary: $90,000–$125,000 USD annually.

What you will do

• Build, maintain, and optimize Oracle APEX pages, forms, components, and interactive reports.
• Develop PL/SQL procedures, packages, triggers, and functions supporting application business logic.
• Tune SQL queries, review execution plans, optimize indexes, and resolve database performance bottlenecks.
• Support Oracle-to-PostgreSQL modernization, including schema conversion, PL/SQL-to-PL/pgSQL refactoring, and functional testing.
• Support automated build, test, and deployment pipelines for database objects and APEX applications using scripting and Git.
• Collaborate with developers, testers, DevOps, system administrators, reporting teams, and Agile delivery teams.

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional database administration experience, including production Oracle and Oracle APEX environments.
• Bachelor’s degree in an IT-related field.
• Hands-on Oracle APEX and PL/SQL development experience.
• Strong SQL tuning and database performance troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with Git-based source control, Agile delivery, and reporting or analytics teams.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance; U.S. citizenship is required for eligibility.

Nice to have

• Exposure to or interest in Oracle-to-PostgreSQL migration and code conversion.
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or GitHub Actions.
• Experience with AWS, Azure, or other cloud database services.
• Knowledge of Java-based application stacks and database interactions.
• Relevant database or cloud certifications.
