Project Director - Enabling Works and Utilities

Location: Bedford, United Kingdom. Regular travel across the UK and occasional international travel may be required.

What you will do

• Lead multidisciplinary teams across engineering, construction, finance, procurement, legal, operations, security, and environmental health and safety.
• Manage enabling infrastructure and non-park developments, including mass grading, water management, environmental mitigation, utility supplies, energy, process water, and rainwater harvesting facilities.
• Direct planning, design, procurement, construction, commissioning, budgeting, scheduling, and commercial delivery within approved objectives.
• Coordinate statutory undertakers, vendors, contractors, and internal stakeholders to align works, phasing, interfaces, and project requirements.
• Control project documentation, RFIs, drawings, submittals, change orders, claims, notices, payments, and progress reporting.
• Provide leadership, coaching, and development guidance to direct reports while maintaining strong field operations and safety standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in engineering, construction, management, or a related field.
• Experience delivering infrastructure construction projects through design and construction phases, including utilities and enabling works.
• Strong knowledge of project scheduling, estimating, critical path planning, site logistics, constructability, bidding, negotiations, contracts, budgets, cash flow, and change orders.
• Experience working with UK utility statutory undertakers and interpreting design and construction drawings.
• Strong communication and coordination skills for managing multiple stakeholders, vendors, contractors, and consultants.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Project, Planner, Power BI, Teams, Power Apps, and Bluebeam or equivalent PDF software; AutoCAD and Revit are preferred.

Nice to have

• SIA licensing or relevant executive security certifications.
• Experience with AutoCAD and Revit.
