Location: Remote within the contiguous United States. This is a 40-hour-per-week contract assignment expected to continue through June 2027, with national and local travel required as needed.

What you will do
- Perform independent engineering calculations and radiological analyses using industry-standard simulation tools, including NRCDose, SCALE 6, RADTRAD, MCNP, and ADVANTG.
- Develop innovative resolutions to complex nuclear engineering and licensing problems.
- Plan and execute complex engineering assignments for project teams, interpreting requirements and developing technical alternatives.
- Coordinate with management and senior customer personnel across organizational lines and serve as a principal customer contact.
- Present project and schedule information on behalf of NuScale.
- Mentor and train junior engineers while supporting a strong safety and quality culture.
Requirements
- B.S. degree in nuclear engineering or radiological health physics from a four-year ABET-accredited university.
- At least 8 years of directly applicable experience in nuclear/radiological engineering or health physics.
- 2–3 years of additional or concurrent experience in PWR or BWR license development and defense.
- Eligibility to work under Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810 is required.
- Qualification to obtain U.S. export-controlled software through RSIC.
- Knowledge of quality assurance requirements under 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, 10 CFR 21, and ASME NQA-1.
