Product Manager, Data Orchestration (Data Platforms/Open Source): Own the product lifecycle for data orchestration capabilities that make pipelines easier to build, operate, monitor, and scale, with an accent on data-aware workflows, ecosystem integrations, and migration experiences. Focus on defining technical product specifications, coordinating releases, and solving complex challenges across data lineage, freshness, quality, dependencies, and legacy orchestrator migrations.
Location: Remote from the Netherlands, collaborating with globally distributed teams across multiple time zones.

What you will do
- Own the full product lifecycle from customer discovery and solution definition through prototyping, development, QA, documentation, and release.
- Define data-aware orchestration features covering lineage, freshness, quality, and dataset dependencies.
- Expand integrations with the modern data stack, including dbt, Fivetran, Airbyte, Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks, and Kafka.
- Develop migration paths and documentation for teams moving from Airflow and other workflow orchestration platforms.
- Shape release scope with product and technology leadership while balancing customer value, simplicity, feasibility, and sustainability.
- Use customer feedback, product usage data, and open-source community input to improve the product.
Requirements
- Hands-on product management experience in a startup-minded, low-process environment.
- Strong practical knowledge of data ecosystems, data pipelines, and tools such as dbt, Fivetran, Airbyte, Snowflake, BigQuery, or Databricks.
- Experience with workflow orchestration platforms such as Airflow, Dagster, Prefect, or Kestra, including scheduling, backfills, retries, dependencies, and data workflows.
- Ability to write clear technical specifications, explain product decisions, and create high-quality documentation.
- Strong ownership, decision-making, prioritization, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Ability to work effectively with globally distributed teams across multiple time zones and contribute to public open-source repositories.
Nice to have
- Previous experience as a data engineer or analytics engineer.
- Experience migrating teams from Airflow or another orchestration platform.
- Background in B2B software, SaaS, platform products, or open-source companies.
- Familiarity with data engineering communities and technology adoption patterns.
