Salary: £160,000–£200,000, depending on level and experience. Senior Engineer: approximately £160,000–£180,000 plus super; Principal Engineer: approximately £180,000–£200,000 plus super.

What you will do

• Provide engineering consultancy across HVDC, FACTS, high-voltage transmission, and cable projects.
• Support technical due diligence, feasibility studies, conceptual design, cost estimation, and technical specifications.
• Review engineering designs and documentation, witness factory acceptance testing, and support construction and commissioning.
• Advise on operational issues, incident investigations, upgrades, replacements, and asset performance improvements.
• Manage technical deliverables, budgets, schedules, and quality outcomes while contributing to tenders and client engagements.
• Mentor junior engineers and support the growth of the HVDC and power systems advisory practice.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
• Demonstrated experience delivering HVDC, FACTS, or closely related high-voltage transmission projects.
• Experience across project development, engineering delivery, commissioning, or operational phases.
• Strong consulting, client-facing, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
• Experience managing technical deliverables, budgets, schedules, and quality.
• Australian working rights and availability to travel to client and project sites are required.

Nice to have

• Experience with HVDC or power electronics OEMs, transmission network operators, utilities, renewable energy developers, or power systems advisory firms.
• Background in protection and control systems, high-voltage cables, complex power systems, or major energy infrastructure projects.
• Specialist experience that supports consideration above the stated remuneration ranges.
