Performance Simulation Associate Engineer (Diesel Engines)

Location: Onsite in Wimborne, Dorset, United Kingdom, five days per week.

Salary: £35,500–£44,500 depending on skills and experience.

What you will do

• Collaborate with engineering teams to develop and execute product development projects.
• Deliver timely, accurate simulation and analysis supporting new and improved products.
• Evaluate component and system performance, reliability, and robustness using simulation and analysis tools.
• Partner with design, manufacturing, supply chain, and test engineers to guide technical decisions.
• Communicate data-driven recommendations and contribute to product validation.
• Improve established simulation methods, engineering processes, and technical practices.

Requirements

• Degree or equivalent experience in engineering, computer science, or materials science.
• Strong accuracy, attention to detail, analytical thinking, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of internal combustion engine fundamentals and diesel engine performance and combustion principles.
• Understanding of thermodynamics, heat transfer, fluid mechanics, and gas-flow behaviour.
• Knowledge of 1D system modelling and simulation, multibody dynamics, thermal analysis, cooling system simulation, design optimisation, and data interpretation.
• Ability to work onsite in Wimborne five days per week.
