Structural Associate Engineering Technician (Advanced Power Generation)

TL;DR

Structural Associate Engineering Technician (Advanced Power Generation): Creating and maintaining structural foundation, steel, and platform models, drawings, and technical deliverables for complex power-generation infrastructure projects with an accent on BIM, CAD, 3D modeling, and multidisciplinary coordination. Focus on developing accurate engineering documentation, performing material quantity estimates and dimensional checks, and reducing design errors and interferences across project groups.

Location: Overland Park, Kansas; Chattanooga, Tennessee; or Cary, North Carolina, United States. Full-time staff position. Hybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days at the manager’s discretion, based on performance and assignments. Relocation is not eligible, and visa sponsorship is not available.

What you will do

• Support multidisciplinary engineering teams working on Advanced Power Generation projects.
• Create, modify, and maintain structural foundation, steel, and platform models, drawings, details, and other project deliverables.
• Use Bentley Open Buildings, AutoCAD, MicroStation, Bluebeam, and other CAD, BIM, and 3D modeling tools.
• Prepare technical documentation, basic computations, material quantity estimates, and dimensional checks.
• Coordinate deliverables with other project groups to minimize errors and design interferences.
• Provide emerging technical guidance to junior engineering technicians and contribute to process improvement.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of related work experience.
• Diploma or certificate required; an associate degree in drafting or engineering design technology is preferred.
• Intermediate understanding of engineering principles and practices.
• Ability to use CAD, BIM, 3D modeling, and technical documentation tools.
• Ability to complete applicable pre-employment background, drug, and motor vehicle checks.
