Technician

What you will do

• Troubleshoot, repair, install, and modify HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, kitchen, roofing, drainage, and grounds equipment.
• Inspect buildings, grounds, and systems for safety, functionality, and preventive maintenance needs.
• Maintain fire and life-safety systems, respond to emergencies and service requests, and perform on-call maintenance.
• Repair and replace building finishes, including ceilings, doors, walls, and flooring.
• Recommend upgrades and cost-saving opportunities while ensuring proper use of tools, materials, and equipment.
• Provide professional, customer-focused support to residents and work independently when serving as the sole maintenance staff member on duty.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of related experience in commercial property or facilities maintenance.
• Technical, vocational, or on-the-job training in at least one skilled trade, such as HVAC, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, process controls, or engine repair.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record; a commercial license may be required.
• Basic proficiency in Outlook, Excel, and Word.
• Ability to work shifts, on-call or standby duties, overtime, and extended emergency-response periods.
• High school diploma or GED, strong problem-solving skills, self-direction, flexibility, and customer-service focus.
