AI Tutor (Sorani Kurdish)

Location: Remote worldwide, subject to legal eligibility, time-zone compatibility, and role-specific needs. US-based candidates cannot be located in Wyoming or Illinois. Visa sponsorship is not provided.

Salary: US-based candidates earn $35–$45 per hour, equivalent to approximately $5,600–$7,200 per month at 160 hours. International compensation is provided during recruitment.

What you will do

• Annotate, label, record, and evaluate multilingual audio clips, speech samples, and voice recordings using proprietary software.
• Translate and localize UI copy, prompts, responses, and other content from English into Sorani Kurdish.
• Curate audio data that accurately represents pronunciation, accents, intonation, rhythm, emotion, and other prosodic features.
• Evaluate noisy, accented, and culturally varied speech and provide clear, defensible feedback.
• Collaborate with technical staff to improve speech-processing tasks and audio annotation tools.

Requirements

• Native Sorani Kurdish proficiency, including exposure to diverse accents, dialects, or regional variations.
• English proficiency at B2 level or higher, with clear pronunciation suitable for audio recording.
• Strong auditory perception and demonstrated ability to transcribe speech accurately across accents and varying audio quality.
• Ability to translate and localize accurately between English and Sorani Kurdish while preserving meaning, tone, and cultural nuance.
• Strong comprehension, analytical, communication, organizational, and independent judgment skills.
• No visa sponsorship is available. Personal devices must be a Chromebook, macOS 11.0 or later, or Windows 10 or later.

Nice to have

• Background in linguistics, phonetics, phonology, sociolinguistics, speech sciences, or cognitive science.
• Experience with speech or audio datasets, annotation workflows, AI training data, or voice models.
• Experience in software translation, localization, voice acting, recording, podcasting, or audio production.
• Portfolio with voice samples, annotated transcripts, or other audio-related work.
