Italian Audio Transcriptionist (AI Training)

Location: Remote (Italy); commitment of 10–40 hours per week

What you will do

• Produce precise, verbatim transcriptions of Italian conversations, interviews, meetings, and other real-world audio.
• Capture crosstalk, overlapping speakers, filled pauses, false starts, background noise, and regional accents.
• Identify and distinguish multiple speakers throughout recordings.
• Apply timestamps, speaker labels, annotation tags, and required formatting conventions.
• Follow detailed transcription style guides and flag unclear or inaudible segments.
• Complete task-based assignments independently on a flexible schedule.

Requirements

• Native or near-native Italian fluency, including comprehension of Milanese, Roman, Neapolitan, and Sicilian accents.
• Exceptional listening skills and strong attention to nuance and detail.
• Strong written Italian with excellent spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
• Ability to follow complex style and formatting guidelines consistently across large volumes of work.
• Self-motivated, reliable, and comfortable working independently with web-based tools.
• Comfort with messy, real-world audio rather than only clean studio recordings.

Nice to have

• Experience as a transcriptionist, court reporter, or stenographer.
• Subtitle creation, closed-captioning, or post-production editing experience.
• Background in linguistics, phonetics, language documentation, translation, localization, or language services.
• Familiarity with annotation or data-labeling platforms and regional Italian dialects.
• Experience working with detailed professional style guides.
