Project Engineer (Machine Vision)

Location: Hybrid working arrangement with on-site work in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Regional and international travel is required as needed.

What you will do

• Manage machine vision and surface inspection projects from initiation through final acceptance.
• Analyze manufacturing, assembly, and inspection processes and develop tailored application concepts.
• Design, configure, and optimize cameras, optics, lighting, vision software, sensors, and automation interfaces.
• Coordinate customers, suppliers, sales, service, and internal engineering teams to deliver projects on time and within scope.
• Oversee installation, commissioning, calibration, testing, FAT, SAT, validation, and customer sign-off.
• Provide technical troubleshooting, root cause analysis, customer training, and implementation support.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics, Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Mechanical, Automation Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• 2–5 years of experience in project engineering, application engineering, industrial automation, machine vision, inspection systems, or related fields.
• Experience managing technical projects in manufacturing or industrial automation environments.
• Hands-on knowledge of cameras, optics, lighting systems, sensors, and vision software, with an understanding of industrial production and quality inspection processes.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Willingness to travel regionally and internationally and work in a hybrid arrangement based in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with PLCs, industrial communication protocols, and automation integration.
• Experience in automotive, electronics, solar, glass, packaging, metals, paper, film, or general manufacturing.
