Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada; hybrid work with typically 3 days per week in the Toronto office

Salary: CAD $130,000–$170,000 base plus performance bonus and benefits

What you will do

• Partner with Tax, Controllership, Treasury, FP&A, and operating-company finance teams to understand workflows, data, systems, KPIs, and pain points.
• Identify, prioritize, and build business cases for AI and data science initiatives based on impact, effort, risk, and expected ROI.
• Translate finance requirements into scoped work for AI and data science engineers and interpret model outputs into actionable decisions.
• Prototype and deploy AI tools for close automation, reconciliation, forecasting, tax workflows, treasury monitoring, reporting, and financial benchmarking.
• Drive adoption through workflow design, training, usage measurement, and tracking of model performance, time savings, decision quality, and financial impact.
• Help define the future roadmap for AI support in finance, including the potential development and leadership of a dedicated team.

Requirements

• 6–10 years of experience across finance, accounting, FP&A, treasury, tax, strategy consulting, or data science partnering, including at least 3 years in AI, ML, or data science.
• Experience shipping practical AI tools involving LLMs, retrieval systems, or agentic workflows for business use cases.
• Strong SQL, working Python or R, and proficiency with Excel and modern BI tools such as Looker, Power BI, or Tableau.
• Working knowledge of machine learning concepts, model evaluation, data quality, and AI limitations and risks.
• Strong financial acumen across accounting, treasury, planning, and business-value analysis.
• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative, business, technical, or accounting field.

Nice to have

• Experience in Tax, Controllership, Treasury, or FP&A, preferably in software, SaaS, or vertical-market software.
• Hands-on experience with LLMs, retrieval systems, or agentic workflows in finance or accounting operations.
• Experience as an embedded analyst or business partner and with decentralized business units or portfolio companies.
• Track record of measuring AI or data science ROI in production environments.
• Master’s degree, CPA, or CFA.
