AI Tutor (Catalan)

Location: Remote worldwide, subject to legal eligibility, time-zone compatibility, and role-specific needs. US-based candidates cannot be hired in Wyoming or Illinois. Visa sponsorship is not provided.

Salary: US-based candidates receive $35–$45 per hour; compensation for international candidates is provided during the recruitment process.

What you will do

• Annotate, label, record, and review multilingual audio clips, voice recordings, speech samples, and related auditory data.
• Translate and localize UI copy, prompts, responses, and other content from English into Catalan.
• Curate audio data that accurately represents pronunciation, accents, intonation, rhythm, emotion, and other prosodic features.
• Evaluate speech accuracy and make consistent decisions on ambiguous, accented, or noisy recordings.
• Collaborate with technical staff to improve speech-modulation tasks, multilingual audio processing, and annotation tools.

Requirements

• Native Catalan proficiency with exposure to diverse accents, dialects, or regional variations.
• English proficiency at B2 level or higher, including clear and natural vocal delivery suitable for recording.
• Strong auditory perception and experience transcribing, evaluating, or interpreting speech across varying audio quality.
• Ability to translate and localize accurately between English and Catalan while preserving tone and cultural nuance.
• Strong communication, analytical, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Personal devices must be a Chromebook, macOS 11.0 or later, or Windows 10 or later.

Nice to have

• Background in linguistics, phonetics, phonology, sociolinguistics, speech sciences, or cognitive science.
• Experience with speech or audio datasets, annotation workflows, AI training data, or voice models.
• Professional voice work, voice recording, voice acting, podcasting, or audio production experience.
• Portfolio containing voice samples, annotated transcripts, or other audio-related work.
