AI Tutor (Khmer)

Location: Remote worldwide, subject to legal eligibility, time-zone compatibility, and role-specific needs. U.S.-based candidates cannot be located in Wyoming or Illinois. Visa sponsorship is not provided.

Salary: U.S.-based candidates receive $35–$45 per hour; international compensation is provided during the recruitment process.

What you will do

• Label, annotate, record, and provide inputs for multilingual audio clips, voice recordings, speech samples, and other auditory data.
• Translate and localize UI copy, prompts, responses, and other content from English into Khmer.
• Curate high-quality audio data that captures pronunciation, intonation, rhythm, accents, and natural spoken output.
• Evaluate speech accuracy, cultural vocal expressions, contextual meaning, and audio quality across varied recordings.
• Collaborate with technical staff to improve speech modulation, accent handling, noise robustness, and multilingual audio processing.
• Help improve annotation tools and workflows for efficient audio data production.

Requirements

• Native Khmer proficiency, including exposure to diverse accents, dialects, or regional variations.
• English proficiency at B2 level or higher, with clear pronunciation suitable for audio recording.
• Strong auditory perception and the ability to identify pronunciation, intonation, rhythm, accent, and audio-quality nuances.
• High-accuracy transcription skills across accents and varying audio quality.
• Experience translating and localizing accurately between English and Khmer while preserving tone and cultural meaning.
• Strong communication, analytical, organizational, and independent decision-making skills for ambiguous audio material.

Nice to have

• Background in linguistics, phonetics, phonology, sociolinguistics, speech sciences, or cognitive science.
• Experience with speech or audio datasets, annotation workflows, AI training data, or voice-model training.
• Advanced transcription and annotation experience covering disfluencies, accents, intonation, stress, rhythm, and emotion.
• Professional voice experience such as voice acting, voice recording, podcasting, or audio production.
• Portfolio containing voice samples, annotated transcripts, or related audio work.
