Senior Preconstruction Estimator (Life Sciences)

Location: Hybrid role based in Conshohocken, Pennsylvania, supporting the Philadelphia-area team and projects across U.S. operations; approximately 15% travel to client sites and hirify.global offices.

What you will do

• Develop conceptual, budgetary, and detailed construction cost estimates for life sciences projects from feasibility through construction administration.
• Review scope, engineering and architectural documentation, and client requirements to create comprehensive cost models.
• Perform quantity take-offs and analyze labor, equipment, material, subcontractor, and vendor costs.
• Evaluate project risks, assumptions, opportunities, and cost drivers, and provide strategic cost guidance to project teams and clients.
• Obtain, assess, and negotiate pricing while preparing estimate reports, cost analyses, and recommendations.
• Improve estimating methodologies, standards, tools, and databases while collaborating with project teams and mentoring junior estimators.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, quantity surveying, finance, or a related discipline.
• At least 10 years of experience in cost estimating, quantity surveying, project controls, construction management, or a related function.
• Experience preparing construction cost estimates across multiple project phases, from conceptual design through construction documentation.
• Knowledge of construction methodologies, engineering disciplines, procurement strategies, project delivery processes, risk management, and mitigation.
• Proficiency with industry-standard estimating software and Microsoft Office, with strong analytical, mathematical, communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to interpret technical documentation, manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and travel approximately 15% as required.

• Experience with pharmaceutical, biotechnology, semiconductor, advanced manufacturing, or other complex industrial projects.
