Counselor

TL;DR

Counselor (Behavioral Health): Providing individual and group substance abuse counseling for patients working toward recovery and a drug-free life with an accent on treatment planning, crisis intervention, and coordinated care. Focus on conducting assessments, managing patient records, making referrals, and supporting compliance with clinical and regulatory requirements.

Location: Onsite in Columbia, Tennessee, USA. Set schedule: 5:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with rotating Saturday shifts from 6:00 a.m.–9:00 a.m.

What you will do

• Conduct individual alcohol and drug abuse counseling and group sessions.
• Orient patients to treatment programs, conduct intake and readmission services, and provide follow-up support.
• Assess patient circumstances and develop, revise, and document treatment plans.
• Provide crisis intervention, referrals, follow-up, and care coordination with community providers.
• Deliver OBOT services, maintain regulatory documentation, and support program implementation.
• Participate in staff training, conferences, meetings, and community relations activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a related Human Services field.
• Knowledge of substance use disorders, treatment planning, human behavior, and social services.
• Ability to make sound decisions and handle confidential or sensitive issues appropriately.
• Ability to respond effectively in stressful situations and seek supervisory guidance when needed.
• Compliance with applicable federal and state certification, licensure, degree, and regulatory requirements.

• Experience in behavioral health.
