Analytics Engineer (SaaS)

Location: Remote in Canada or the United States

Salary: $149,600 – $215,100 USD per year

What you will do

• Build and operate the core BI platform supporting reporting, analytics, self-service, and AI.
• Own data ingestion, integration, and platform architecture with thoughtful trade-offs.
• Develop and maintain enterprise data models, reusable business logic, and semantic layers for trusted analytics.
• Establish standards for data quality, testing, governance, observability, documentation, and CI/CD.
• Monitor platform health, identify pipeline failures, and implement scalable solutions to improve reliability.
• Review and certify data pipelines, models, semantic layers, and data products before business consumption.
• Mentor Analytics Engineers through code and design reviews and best practices.

Requirements

• Location: Must be based in Canada or the United States
• 6+ years of professional experience in analytics engineering or similar technical data analytics roles, preferably in SaaS or high-tech.
• Expert-level SQL proficiency and deep data modeling experience with performant query writing and architectural trade-offs.
• 6+ years hands-on experience building, deploying, and maintaining modular data pipelines using dbt in production with git workflows and automated data quality testing.
• Experience designing schemas and optimizing queries on cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, Redshift, or BigQuery.
• Experience implementing data observability platforms and using AI to improve dbt workflows and analytics engineering development.

Nice to have

• Experience designing semantic models and enabling self-service analytics through governed datasets and trusted metric definitions.
