Salary: $108,006–$222,169 per year

What you will do

• Develop civil and structural design drawings and calculation packages from concept through detailed design for utility substation projects.
• Review civil and structural designs for bid and construction packages.
• Perform site design calculations, including grading, cut and fill, impervious area, erosion control, and stormwater flow.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, stormwater, and SPCC requirements.
• Provide construction support to field personnel and participate in client meetings and site visits.
• Review project work, mentor junior staff, and contribute to bids and proposals.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in electric utility substation design engineering and reviews.
• Professional Engineer license in the State of California.
• Experience with steel and concrete structures, foundations, site grading, geotechnical engineering, access roads, and relevant codes and standards.
• Experience designing and reviewing substation civil and structural systems in seismic areas.
• Strong analytical, technical writing, communication, and Microsoft Office skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with STAAD.Pro, RISA 3D, FAD Tools, SAFE, SAG10, and LPile.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, surveying, geotechnical specifications, construction specifications, and georeferenced drawings.
• Experience leading client-facing sessions such as lunch-and-learns and kick-off meetings.
