What you will do

• Conduct detailed forensic investigations of structural failures and construction deficiencies for residential, commercial, and industrial properties.
• Perform on-site inspections to evaluate conditions, document observations, and preserve evidence.
• Analyze structural systems utilizing engineering principles, building codes, and industry standards.
• Prepare clear and defensible engineering reports including findings, opinions, and repair recommendations.
• Provide technical consultation and expert witness testimony during litigation, mediation, or insurance proceedings.
• Manage multiple assignments while maintaining project schedules and budgets.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Experience in forensic engineering, failure analysis, or construction defect investigations.
• Strong knowledge of structural systems, building materials, and applicable building codes.
• Proven technical writing skills for creating detailed forensic reports.
• Willingness and ability to travel regionally for site inspections and client meetings.

Nice to have

• Prior experience with litigation support, depositions, arbitration, or expert witness testimony.
• Experience interacting with attorneys, insurance carriers, and property owners.
