Senior Manager, AI Experience Designer (Agentic AI)

Location: New York City, United States; hybrid work arrangement. Candidates must have permanent authorization to work in the United States. U.S. work visa sponsorship is not available.

Annual base salary: $124,400–$207,400; Tampa, Florida range: $111,900–$186,500.

What you will do

• Own end-to-end experience design for complex AI-enabled products and workflows, from research and problem framing through validation and implementation.
• Design conversational, voice, and multimodal experiences covering conversation state, tool use, approvals, escalation, error recovery, and safe fallback behavior.
• Use LLM APIs, agent frameworks, and AI design tools to prototype realistic agent behavior and identify usability, trust, and safety risks.
• Partner with Product, Engineering, Data, and AI stakeholders to shape scope, resolve implementation challenges, and deliver production-ready designs.
• Define reusable interaction patterns, standards, and frameworks that improve consistency across products and platforms.
• Measure adoption, task success, trust, usability, and product effectiveness using qualitative and quantitative evidence.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with 6+ years of progressive UX design experience, or a master’s degree with 5+ years, or a PhD with 1+ years.
• Hands-on experience building with LLM APIs or agent frameworks to prototype real agent behavior in code.
• Experience designing conversational UX and agentic AI workflows with human-in-the-loop controls, transparency, approvals, escalation, and safe failure modes.
• Strong product development, frontend, API, accessibility, and inclusive design knowledge, including WCAG 2.1 AA compliance.
• Experience creating scalable interaction patterns, components, or design frameworks across multiple products and engineering teams.
• Strong communication, portfolio, systems-thinking, leadership, mentoring, and complex project delivery skills.

Nice to have

• Healthcare or pharmaceutical design experience.
• Experience with responsible AI UX, explainability, privacy boundaries, and trust and safety guardrails.
• Experience evaluating AI conversations through scenario-based risk testing and product metrics.
• Lean or agile product experience, service design, journey mapping, or customer experience expertise.
