Senior Geospatial Data Scientist (Address and Geocoding)

What you will do

• Build robust systems for complex US address parsing, including rural routes, high-rise units, fractional addresses, non-postal locations, and alternative address representations.
• Improve geolocation precision from postal and census centroids to parcel, rooftop, front-door, loading-dock, and drop-off points.
• Develop spatial validation loops using contributor data and related terrestrial datasets.
• Evaluate third-party geocoding services such as Google, Mapbox, and Overture Maps against in-house solutions.
• Develop automated confidence-scoring frameworks to monitor the quality of addressing and geocoding data.
• Prototype with open-source and cloud-native geospatial tools, evaluate data vendors, and collaborate with engineers to deliver production features.

Requirements

• 5+ years of relevant experience in geospatial data science, addressing, or geocoding.
• Mastery of USPS CASS/NCOA processes, TIGER data, the US postal system, road networks, US parcel data, and census data.
• Hands-on coding in Jupyter notebooks using Python and SQL.
• Experience with GeoPandas, Shapely, Proj, Kepler or Pydeck, Libpostal, and Valhalla.
• Knowledge of spatial formats, PostGIS spatial SQL, GDAL, QGIS, REST APIs, JSON, Postman, and statistics fundamentals.
• Must be based in the United States for this remote role.

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work history.
• Experience with Apache Spark, Carto, or geospatial pattern-matching and recognition algorithms.
