Engineer - Cloud Foundations

TL;DR

Engineer - Cloud Foundations (AWS/Azure/GCP): Building and maintaining foundational multi-cloud infrastructure with an accent on infrastructure automation, identity and access management, security, governance, and platform reliability. Focus on designing scalable cloud foundations, automating repeatable deployments, optimizing observability and cost, and solving complex cross-functional platform challenges.

Location: Primarily remote within the United States, with approximately 10% travel to the hirify.global Restaurant Support Center in Dublin, Ohio, or other company-designated locations.

Salary: $74,000–$126,000 annually, plus a target annual bonus of 7.5% of base salary.

What you will do

• Deploy foundational networking, IAM, logging, and monitoring components across AWS, Azure, and GCP.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and CI/CD enablement using Terraform, Jenkins, GitHub workflows, and related tools.
• Implement cloud security controls, role-based access, policy enforcement, encryption, audit logging, and governance standards.
• Monitor platform reliability, availability, performance, and cloud costs.
• Partner with FinOps, data engineering, product, platform, and operations teams to align cloud foundations with business needs.
• Document cloud architecture and standards, share best practices, and mentor engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure or platform engineering.
• Hands-on experience with at least two cloud providers, infrastructure-as-code, and automation tools.
• Experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar CI/CD platforms.
• Strong understanding of multi-cloud security and governance, including IAM, encryption, policy enforcement, and compliance.
• Experience with monitoring, observability, and cloud cost optimization tools, plus strong cross-functional communication skills.

Nice to have

• Advanced degree or cloud technology certifications.
• FinOps experience.
