CTF Subject Matter Expert (Crypto Intelligence)

Location: Hybrid in London, United Kingdom; the role also offers the option to work from almost anywhere for up to 90 days per year.

What you will do

• Lead counter-terrorism financing research and investigations into terrorist organisations, facilitators, propaganda, fundraising ecosystems, and operational support networks using cryptoassets.
• Identify terrorist financing typologies, entities, wallet clusters, and illicit behaviours and integrate them into hirify.global’s intelligence dataset.
• Assess exposure and attribution confidence across jurisdictions and designation regimes, including UN, US, UK, and EU frameworks.
• Translate investigative findings into scalable typologies, detection logic, intelligence reports, and other actionable outputs.
• Brief customers, regulators, compliance teams, and public-sector partners through training sessions, client meetings, and industry forums.
• Support disruption of crypto-enabled terrorist financing and facilitation networks through intelligence collaboration.

Requirements

• Deep experience in intelligence analysis, threat analysis, financial crime, OSINT, or related investigative work, including illicit or terrorist financing.
• Experience working independently in a senior or highly autonomous role with strong judgment under uncertainty.
• Understanding of cryptoassets, blockchain analysis, and on-chain tracing tools.
• Experience producing rigorous, evidence-based reports for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to use Python, SQL, or AI-assisted querying to analyse blockchain and open-source data; AI fluency is essential.
• Ability to work in a hybrid arrangement in London, United Kingdom.

Nice to have

• PhD or advanced degree in a relevant field.
• Experience investigating terrorist or sanctioned actors’ use of cryptoassets.
• Fluency or working proficiency in multiple languages relevant to terrorism or illicit finance research.
• Publications, briefings, or media contributions on threat finance or cryptoasset misuse.
• Understanding of obfuscation techniques used by illicit actors.
