PHP Developer (Travel)

Location: Colchester, UK; hybrid schedule with 3 days in the office and 2 days from home. Applicants must have the legal right to work in the UK.

Salary: £40,000–£50,000 per year, dependent on experience.

hirify.global is recruiting for a well-established, market-leading travel organisation investing in its in-house technology team.

What you will do

• Develop, maintain, and enhance backend applications using PHP and Symfony.
• Design and build REST APIs and microservices for internal and external integrations.
• Develop scalable, secure, and high-performing applications using AWS services.
• Collaborate with developers, stakeholders, and business teams to deliver new features.
• Write documented, maintainable code, participate in code reviews, and contribute to technical discussions.
• Work in an Agile environment and recommend improvements based on emerging technologies.

Requirements

• Approximately 3 years of commercial PHP development experience.
• Strong experience with the Symfony Framework and REST APIs.
• Hands-on experience with AWS services, including EC2, S3, CloudFront, Lambda, CloudWatch, and RDS.
• Experience with Linux and NGINX environments, plus strong knowledge of Git.
• Good knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Legal right to work in the UK and availability for a hybrid schedule in Colchester.

Nice to have

• Experience with React, Webpack, and modern JavaScript.
• Knowledge of Redis, SOLR, website performance optimization, SEO, or Google Tag Manager.
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
