Location: Hybrid in Washington, D.C., United States; the role allows working from almost anywhere for up to 90 days per year.

Salary: $175,000–$215,000 annual base salary

What you will do

  • Serve as the subject matter expert on global cryptoasset sanctions regimes and maintain comprehensive coverage frameworks.
  • Lead investigations into sanctioned entities, state-linked actors, high-risk jurisdictions, and sanctions-evasion networks.
  • Define and improve sanctions monitoring, alerting, triage, and investigation operating models.
  • Identify coverage gaps and drive durable remediation, process improvements, and automation requirements.
  • Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Customer teams to translate intelligence into platform capabilities.
  • Produce reports, briefings, blogs, whitepapers, and client-facing content, while representing sanctions intelligence to clients, regulators, and industry partners.

Requirements

  • Significant experience as an intelligence analyst, investigator, or compliance specialist in sanctions, financial crime, law enforcement, or crypto.
  • Independent expertise in OFAC, UK, EU, and UN sanctions frameworks and the distinctions between autonomous and supranational regimes.
  • Experience designing or improving monitoring frameworks, alerting systems, triage processes, or investigation playbooks.
  • Proficiency with blockchain analytics tools, OSINT, corporate registries, and adverse-media sources.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including independently producing stakeholder-ready outputs to deadline.
  • Ability to work in a hybrid arrangement in Washington, D.C., United States.

Nice to have

  • Experience researching sanctions-evasion typologies involving state-linked actors, procurement networks, critical technology supply chains, or high-risk financial intermediaries.
  • Experience with automated sanctions-list monitoring, cross-referencing tools, or detection-logic design.
  • Technical understanding of cryptoassets, blockchain architecture, and on-chain analytics methodologies.
