What you will do

• Investigate insider trading, spoofing, and coordinated wallet activity from initial signal to documented finding.
• Trace funding flows and transaction history using blockchain analysis tools like Chainalysis.
• Analyze order-book manipulation, including layering and wash trading, using trade-surveillance tooling.
• Evaluate and respond to subpoenas and legal processes under strict deadlines.
• Write detailed investigative reports for leadership, law enforcement, and outside counsel.

Requirements

• 5–7+ years of experience in trade surveillance, blockchain forensics, financial crimes, or law enforcement.
• Working knowledge of order-book mechanics and manipulation typologies (spoofing, layering, wash trading).
• Direct experience with blockchain analysis tools (Chainalysis, TRM Labs, Elliptic) or trade-surveillance platforms (Eventus/Validus, Nasdaq SMARTS).
• Proven track record of building cases from limited initial indicators.
• Location: Must be based in New York (On-site).

Nice to have

• Experience with prediction markets or other crypto-native platforms.
• Proficiency in SQL or Python for testing hypotheses against trade or on-chain data.
• Prior experience acting as a point of contact for law enforcement or regulators.
