Chapter Lead - Architects (Architecture): Leading a chapter of 11–15 architects supporting Finance & Financial Risk by shaping target architectures, solution designs, governance and architecture standards with an accent on enterprise architecture, modelling, traceability and regulatory alignment. Focus on developing senior architects, driving EA3.0 governance, translating functional and non-functional requirements into implementation-ready designs, and improving architecture quality across a complex international organisation.

Location: Hybrid role based in Amsterdam at Haarlerbergpark, with collaboration across ING countries and global functions.

What you will do

• Lead, coach and develop a chapter of approximately 11–15 senior architects across Domain, Business, Information and Solution Architecture.
• Drive architecture excellence through standards, modelling quality, traceability, documentation and repository integrity.
• Facilitate architecture governance, review meetings, decision-making, exception handling and control processes under ING’s EA3.0 framework.
• Shape target-state architectures, transformation roadmaps and implementation-ready solution designs for Finance & Financial Risk.
• Translate business strategy, regulatory requirements and functional and non-functional requirements into architecture decisions and delivery guidance.
• Build trusted relationships with senior Finance, Risk, Technology and Architecture stakeholders while improving the architecture operating model.

Requirements

• Extensive architecture leadership experience in large, complex organisations and a proven record of developing senior architects.
• Strong expertise in enterprise architecture, solution architecture, architecture governance, modelling techniques and architectural artefacts.
• Experience working in highly regulated, matrix and international environments.
• Knowledge of cloud, integration, data and platform architectures relevant to Finance & Financial Risk.
• Ability to balance business, data, integration, security, resilience, scalability, performance and operational requirements.
• Education in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Nice to have

• Experience in Banking, Finance, Financial Risk or Regulatory Reporting.
• Experience with ING’s EA3.0 architectural governance process and related policies.
