Principal Software Engineer

What you will do

• Shape technical direction across teams and domains while remaining hands-on in engineering work.
• Design and deliver reusable, configurable automation capabilities for Forma Design.
• Turn complex design automation challenges into scalable, user-facing product features.
• Drive architectural and technical decisions for large-scale systems, platforms, and shared infrastructure.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Product, and Design in an empowered product triad.
• Improve architecture and ways of working so the product and organization can scale sustainably.

Requirements

• Strong hands-on experience building cloud-based, user-facing systems.
• Experience driving architectural or technical decisions beyond a single team.
• Experience with TypeScript, serverless architectures, or AWS.
• Background in large-scale systems, platforms, or shared infrastructure.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills across disciplines and seniority levels.
• Experience working in empowered, product-led teams and interest in AI-enabled workflows or design automation.
