Associate Director (Transport Development Planning)

Location: London, England, United Kingdom; hybrid working with full-time employees expected to spend 60% of their time in the office or on-site with clients.

What you will do

• Lead the growth of the UK transport Development Planning business across existing accounts, new clients, sectors, and geographies.
• Direct large, complex projects and proposals as bid or project director.
• Provide national technical leadership for transport development planning and deliver high-quality multidisciplinary work.
• Lead business development, account direction, cross-selling, framework opportunities, and work winning.
• Manage market-area financial and commercial performance while identifying and mitigating commercial, reputational, and contractual risks.
• Represent clients as an expert witness or at public inquiries and mentor team members and senior colleagues.

Requirements

• Consultancy-based career with a proven track record in transport development planning.
• Major UK transport consultancy experience and evidence of achieving multiple high-profile planning consents.
• Established network of contacts and proven business development and work-winning capability in UK development planning.
• Experience leading stakeholder engagement with local authorities, politicians, and senior officials.
• Track record of project delivery across the private and public sectors, with adaptability to government policy and external factors.
• Experience leading proposals and marketing materials, accountability for practice growth and profitability, and mentoring senior colleagues.
