Senior Platform Engineer (Cloud Platform): Designing and evolving shared cloud platforms, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure automation for federal student aid systems with an accent on secure provisioning, observability, and developer experience. Location: Fully remote, available only to candidates residing in -authorized U.S. states, including Maryland. Occasional travel to client sites or company meetings may be required. Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance is required.
Salary: $120,588–$195,955 annually; hiring range: $120,588–$145,000, plus discretionary performance-based bonus.

What you will do
- Lead the design, implementation, and evolution of an enterprise platform supporting software delivery across a federal customer ecosystem.
- Build scalable cloud infrastructure, shared platform services, reusable engineering capabilities, and self-service tools.
- Develop CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, deployment automation, and secure provisioning across multiple teams.
- Establish platform engineering standards, architecture patterns, observability practices, and DevSecOps workflows.
- Implement logging, monitoring, dashboards, alerting, and operational metrics using Datadog.
- Mentor engineers, partner with software, product, and security teams, and drive platform adoption and reliability.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of experience in platform engineering, infrastructure automation, or related technical roles.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or four additional years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
- Extensive experience with cloud-native platforms, Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD pipelines using GitLab, and platform automation.
- Experience with enterprise observability, monitoring, and logging using Datadog, plus integration of GitLab, Jira, Confluence, and Databricks.
- Advanced ability to lead platform engineering, standardize environments and releases, reduce operational toil, and mentor technical teams.

- Experience with large-scale enterprise modernization or platform engineering in federal government environments.
- Experience establishing engineering standards, driving adoption, and preventing platform fragmentation.
