Senior Software Engineer, Datastores (Auth0)

Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada; hybrid work with an in-person onboarding experience.

Annual base salary: CAD 136,000–187,000 for candidates located in Canada.

What you will do

• Develop large-scale, distributed, and highly available infrastructure for the Auth0 platform.
• Implement platform tools that enable feature teams to deploy and manage datastores for their services.
• Research technologies that accelerate the creation of new environments.
• Lead cross-team initiatives from design and code reviews through operational robustness and security hygiene.
• Participate in the team’s on-call rotation.

Requirements

• 5–8 years of software development experience.
• Proficiency in Golang or willingness to learn it.
• Experience managing infrastructure with Terraform.
• Experience with Kubernetes and CI/CD.
• Experience with data storage systems at scale, including PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, and/or DynamoDB.
• Experience working with Microsoft Azure and/or Amazon Web Services.
• Experience with datastore reliability, including standard configurations, latency, throughput, availability, utilization indicators, and performance analysis.
• Ability to deliver work incrementally, gather feedback, and iterate on solutions.
• Commitment to building systems that are reliable, maintainable, scalable, and secure, with ownership, accountability, and attention to detail.
• Comfort working in a fully distributed team and collaborating across organizations.

• Experience working with databases.
• DevOps experience using cloud-agnostic and cloud-native technologies.
