TL;DR

Sr. Advisor - Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) (Federal Healthcare): Guiding strategy and growth initiatives across CMS with an accent on Medicare, Medicaid, digital quality measurement, value-based care, program integrity, payment innovation, and AI. Focus on translating policy, budgets, rulemaking, and organizational change into portfolio strategy, thought leadership, and strong delivery outcomes.

Location: Remote within the United States; candidates must reside in one of the listed eligible states or Washington, D.C. Headquarters are in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

Salary: $150–$350 per hour

What you will do

  • Guide the strategic vision for impactful healthcare and technology solutions across CMS.
  • Advise leadership on CMS centers, programs, and problem areas that align with organizational capabilities.
  • Translate CMS policy direction, budgets, rulemaking, and organizational changes into portfolio strategy.
  • Lead white papers, RFI responses, and thought leadership focused on agency priorities.
  • Build relationships across the CMS ecosystem, including research organizations and associations.
  • Advise delivery leadership on client expectations and program stewardship.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in federal healthcare, including senior leadership experience at CMS or an equivalent organization.
  • Deep knowledge of CMS programs, including Medicare, Medicaid, Medicare Advantage, quality programs, program integrity, and payment innovation.
  • Understanding of how CMS centers and offices establish and execute priorities.
  • Experience advising executives and translating policy and operational needs into strategic actions.
  • Advanced degree in public health, health policy, economics, public administration, law, or a related field is preferred.
  • Must be able to work remotely from an eligible U.S. state or Washington, D.C.
