Manufacturing Quality Engineering Manager (Semiconductor Manufacturing)

Location: San Diego, California, United States; onsite 100% during working hours in a cleanroom environment with protective gear required for the entire shift.

Base annual salary: $118,875–$174,350.

What you will do

• Translate department quality strategy and business plans into operational plans for the assigned group and drive execution of the quality roadmap.
• Define and monitor quality KPIs, analyze progress, mitigate risks, and report on team performance.
• Directly manage quality engineers and quality inspectors, ensuring workforce capability, performance, and development.
• Lead cross-functional and external customer interactions, audits, escalations, and resolution of complex quality issues.
• Lead the Quality Review Board, facilitate quality meetings, and deploy quality programs.
• Build stakeholder networks, establish feedback loops, and promote a culture of employee ownership of quality.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in a technical field such as electrical engineering, manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering, mechatronics, mechanical engineering, or another relevant area with thorough experience; alternatively, a Bachelor’s degree with deep or extensive experience.
• At least 10 years of experience in related areas of expertise.
• Proven performance in one or more of supplier or manufacturing quality, Lean, Six Sigma problem solving, ISO auditing, or SPC.
• Proven experience leading direct or indirect reports and facilitating cross-functional or sectoral quality meetings.
• Experience creating urgency, leading escalations, and driving the systematic development and implementation of solutions.
• Ability to functionally influence, inspire, and engage subject matter experts.
• Ability to develop and share quality data, reports, and quality initiative presentations.
• Clear stakeholder communication, data-driven presentation skills, cross-functional collaboration, project leadership, structured problem solving, prioritization, process documentation, and team development.
• Ability to uphold safety, quality, and customer focus in all activities.
