Senior Quality Manager - EAST (Manufacturing)

Location: Acworth, Georgia or Wallingford, Connecticut, United States. Onsite role with responsibility for both locations, frequent travel between assigned sites, and regular manufacturing-floor presence. Applicants must be ITAR eligible.

Salary: $112,500+ per year based on experience, plus annual performance bonus incentive.

What you will do

• Define and execute regional quality strategy across multiple sites and drive accountability for quality outcomes.
• Own and improve the scalable Quality Management System, including ISO 9001, AS9100, customer flow-down requirements, FAIs, traceability, CMMC2 where applicable, and outsourced processing controls.
• Lead registrar, customer, regulatory, and internal audit readiness; oversee corrective actions and verify effectiveness.
• Serve as the executive-level quality contact for customers, suppliers, registrars, and regulatory bodies, including major escalations, audits, performance reviews, and concessions.
• Oversee supplier qualification and performance, including mills, heat treatment, plating, NDT, coatings, supplier audits, PPAP, and SCAR processes.
• Lead regional quality teams, quality KPIs, risk governance, Lean and Six Sigma improvement, stop-shipment decisions, and cross-functional alignment with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, Sales, and Finance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 8–10 years of progressive quality leadership experience in a manufacturing or fabricated metal environment.
• Multi-site or regional leadership experience, including managing managers and cross-functional teams.
• Experience with ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 systems and leading customer and registrar audits.
• Experience managing corrective and preventive action systems, including 8D, CAR, and SCAR.
• Demonstrated success driving measurable quality improvement and managing quality KPIs such as customer PPM, scrap, rework, COPQ, delivery impact, and supplier performance.
• Strong executive communication, escalation management, risk governance, and customer relationship skills.
• ITAR eligibility is required.
• Ability to travel frequently between assigned sites and maintain regular manufacturing-floor presence.

Nice to have

• ASQ certification such as CQE or CQM/OE, or an equivalent certification.
• ISO Lead Auditor certification.
• Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
• Experience in aerospace, defense, medical, or other regulated industries.
• Experience with PFMEA, Control Plans, and APQP methodologies.
• Experience influencing capital investment and strategic planning decisions.
• Experience with CMMC2 or regulated compliance environments.
