Associate Software Engineer (Fintech)

What you will do

• Develop and optimize high-performance software for complex risk calculations using Java, Scala, and Python.
• Performance tune applications to maximize CPU and memory utilization for computationally intensive tasks.
• Build internal and external risk reporting using SQL and data visualization tools like Tableau.
• Engineer data pipelines and storage solutions using Snowflake, Sybase IQ, and distributed HDFS systems.
• Design and maintain batch processes utilizing scheduling infrastructure like Apache Airflow.
• Mentor and oversee junior technical team members through the full SDLC, including design and code reviews.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience working with risk technology teams in a large financial institution.
• Proven expertise in credit risk management functions, processes, and regulatory deliverables.
• Strong proficiency in Scala, Java, Python, Spark, and Linux shell scripting.
• Experience with relational/object databases and distributed computing (e.g., DASK, Public Cloud).
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Willingness to learn and work with proprietary technology such as Slang/SECDB.
