Salary: $136,800–$217,866 USD base compensation, with bonus potential and early-stage equity.

What you will do
- Design and develop mechatronic solutions for scientific and robotic applications, including mechanical systems, electrical hardware, and control software.
- Build rapid proof-of-concepts using 3D printing, machining, commercial components, and repurposed parts.
- Integrate custom and off-the-shelf components with automation frameworks and robotics control systems.
- Test, debug, and troubleshoot systems and subassemblies while collecting performance and experiment data.
- Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, software, product, scientific, and end-user teams to resolve integration challenges.
- Create technical drawings, integration documentation, test plans, and reports.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, mechatronics, or a related engineering discipline.
- 6–10 years of relevant engineering experience and strong collaboration skills with end users.
- High proficiency in C/C++ and Python, with experience using microcontrollers such as STM32, Arduino, and Raspberry Pi.
- Proficiency with CAD tools including SolidWorks, Creo, or Siemens NX, plus rapid prototyping techniques.
- Experience integrating sensors, motors, drives, analog signals, discrete I/O, and associated electrical hardware.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and proficiency with SolidWorks PDM, GitHub, and embedded protocols including UART/Serial, SPI, I2C, and CAN.
Nice to have
- Custom PCB design and fabrication experience.
- PLC-based systems and industrial protocols such as EtherNet/IP, RS-232, OPC/UA, or MQTT.
- Experience with high-vacuum, ultra-high-vacuum, or optical systems.
- Experience in semiconductor manufacturing.
