TL;DR

Hardware Design Engineer (Electronics): Developing and validating PCB-based analog, mixed-signal, and digital hardware for precision test and measurement products with an accent on circuit design, PCB development, signal integrity, and laboratory characterization. Focus on bringing up prototype boards, debugging complex hardware issues, and collaborating across systems, FPGA, firmware, software, mechanical, manufacturing, and test engineering.

Location: Onsite in Beaverton, Oregon, United States

Salary: $63,900–$118,700 per year, plus bonus eligibility

What you will do

  • Design and develop PCB-based hardware from concept through validation.
  • Create schematics, engineering documentation, and design records using industry-standard CAD tools.
  • Support PCB layout by defining component placement, routing requirements, and design constraints.
  • Participate in prototype board bring-up, laboratory testing, characterization, debugging, and root-cause analysis.
  • Apply analog circuit design and signal integrity principles, including transmission lines, impedance control, termination, and high-speed routing.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams and support manufacturing, sustaining engineering, and field issue resolution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 0–2 years of industry experience, including internships, co-op assignments, senior design projects, or research experience.
  • Understanding of analog and digital circuit fundamentals, PCB design, schematic capture, and multilayer board layouts.
  • Familiarity with signal integrity, transmission lines, timing, high-speed interfaces, and components such as operational amplifiers, ADCs, DACs, regulators, and MOSFETs.
  • Knowledge of I²C, SPI, UART, and GPIO communication interfaces, plus experience using laboratory instrumentation.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaborative engineering skills.

Nice to have

  • Experience with Siemens Xpedition, Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro, or similar schematic and PCB layout tools.
  • Exposure to LTspice, PSpice, or equivalent analog circuit simulation tools.
  • Familiarity with Python, MATLAB, test automation, or data analysis.
  • Experience with microcontroller-based systems, signal or power integrity, DFM, or DFT.
  • Hardware projects, engineering clubs, competitions, research, or personal electronics experience.
