Electrical Controls Engineer

What you will do

• Review project and product design requirements from Project Engineering.
• Develop concept and detailed electrical control system designs and submit them for initial and final design reviews.
• Create bills of materials, layout and schematic drawings, software designs and tests, and design calculations.
• Complete project and product documentation for engineering approval and release.
• Communicate and cooperate with other departments while contributing ideas to improve system performance and engineering initiatives.
• Maintain technical skills through training and perform other assigned duties.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from a four-year college or university, or equivalent.
• Good electrical aptitude and familiarity with machine controls and wiring methods.
• Ability to apply electrical engineering standards and techniques and design and read electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics.
• Ability to write software for PLCs, HMIs, CNCs, robots, and peripherals.
• Computer skills including CAD, word processing, and spreadsheets.
• Creativity, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to travel on a limited basis as required.
• Ability to perform the physical duties of the role, including occasional lifting or moving of up to 25 pounds and standing, walking, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
