Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) Engineer

What you will do

• Plan and manage the installation, maintenance, upgrades, and daily operation of facility PLC systems and equipment.
• Write, upload, test, debug, and maintain PLC, HMI, and SCADA software.
• Maintain software revision control, certification compliance, system documentation, installation packages, and periodic reports.
• Update industrial communication networks and analyze system logs and data trends to improve equipment performance and prevent downtime.
• Troubleshoot electrical, hardware, and software issues and coordinate equipment work with subcontractors.
• Work with project managers, systems engineers, technical staff, government representatives, contractors, and mission partners.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of hands-on experience with industrial automation or facility control systems.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Experience with HVAC, chillers, boilers, fire alarms, power distribution networks, test equipment, or data acquisition systems.
• Experience programming and maintaining Rockwell Automation, Schneider Electric, Siemens, or ABB systems, plus industrial networks such as Ethernet/IP, Profibus, Modbus, and ControlNet.
• Ability to develop and maintain Human-Machine Interfaces, lift heavy tools, climb ladders, and work in tight or elevated facility spaces.
• Ability to pass a Federal Background Check and willingness to work on-call, weekends, or overtime when required.

Nice to have

• Experience in aerospace or with NASA automation standards and best practices.
• Working knowledge of federal and NASA standards, including NPR 7150.2 NASA Software Requirements.
• Strong customer relationship management experience.
