Founding Protocol Engineer (Solana)

Location: Remote (Must be in US time zones)

Salary: $180k - $230k

A newly funded Solana team building a prediction market that trades like a perp, backed by a major exchange's venture arm and L1 foundation.

What you will do

• Own the economic mechanism including margin models, liquidation ordering, and position sizing.
• Architect the settlement program, focusing on vaults, position accounting, and market state machines.
• Implement the signed-quote fill path to be atomic in a single transaction.
• Develop on-chain numerics and fixed-point math for margin, liquidations, and settlement.
• Design the two-oracle surface and verified-actual settlement flow.
• Oversee collateral and risk primitives, including PDA vaults, insurance funds, and emergency withdraws.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in Web3 and 6+ years of professional engineering.
• Proven track record of shipping multiple Solana programs to mainnet, with fluency in the account model, PDAs, and CPIs.
• Strong Rust and systems programming background in production.
• Deep familiarity with SPL Token and Token-2022 custody patterns.
• Must be located in US time zones.
• Security-first mindset with experience in serious audits, fuzzing, and threat modeling.

Nice to have

• Experience with margined DeFi primitives such as perps, CFDs, futures, or options.
• Knowledge of signed-quote or RFQ settlement and hybrid off-chain/on-chain venues.
• Production integrations with Pyth, Switchboard, or similar oracles.
• Contributions to open source Solana or SIMDs.
