Senior Blockchain Engineer (Web3)

Location: New York, United States — hybrid workplace. A hybrid working schedule also allows fully remote work or work from a nearest Moonbase, subject to the role's location requirements.

What you will do

• Design and improve high-volume transaction broadcasting pipelines, lifecycle management, retry logic, rebroadcasting, and recovery for stuck transactions.
• Build wallet infrastructure and automation with safe parallel transaction handling, monitoring, observability, reconciliation, and auditability.
• Develop cross-chain and DeFi infrastructure for multi-step fiat-to-chain and on-chain-to-fiat flows, including routing, swaps, liquidity, price impact, and MEV considerations.
• Design state machines and recovery strategies for non-atomic journeys and partial failures across blockchain networks.
• Write thoroughly tested, performant backend services that interact with on-chain contracts and evolve with product needs.
• Participate in planning, incident response, post-mortems, reliability improvements, and collaboration with Product Managers.

Requirements

• Strong backend and platform engineering fundamentals with experience operating production systems with uptime requirements.
• Hands-on experience interacting with live blockchain networks in production and understanding transaction lifecycle and failure recovery in at least one blockchain.
• Experience with wallet infrastructure or custody systems, such as Ethereum, Bitcoin, or Solana.
• Ability to reason about failure modes, production incidents, system resilience, and operational guardrails.
• Understanding of MEV, slippage, price impact, swap execution risks, and high-throughput or financial systems.

Nice to have

• Experience with exchanges, custody providers, wallet infrastructure teams, or high-volume DeFi platforms.
• Familiarity with UTXO-based chains, coin selection, and fee bumping strategies such as RBF and CPFP.
• Experience designing cross-chain orchestration systems, blockchain indexing, or event ingestion pipelines.
• Understanding of ERC-20 and SPL token standards and backend interaction with smart contracts.
