TL;DR
Non-QM Underwriter (Mortgage): Underwriting and maintaining a pipeline of Non-QM and Non-Agency mortgage loans with an accent on income analysis, manual underwriting, compliance, and investor guidelines. Focus on evaluating complex loan files, issuing clear approval decisions, resolving issues with lenders and internal teams, and completing final approval documentation.

What you will do
- Underwrite Non-QM and Non-Agency loan products, including Bank Statement Income Analysis, Asset Depletion, DSCR No Ratio, Foreign National, and Self-Employment loans.
- Maintain a pipeline of new loans and resubmissions in line with service level agreements.
- Review loan files for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with investor and agency guidelines.
- Issue clear loan decisions and final approvals, including uploading required documentation and signatures.
- Communicate with operations, sales staff, lenders, investors, and business partners to resolve underwriting issues.
- Collaborate with Post-Closing on stipulations for closed files and communicate outcomes to underwriting and management.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 4+ years of mortgage underwriting experience, including Non-QM and Non-Agency underwriting.
- Experience with manual underwriting, compliance, and disclosure requirements.
- Advanced prioritization, time management, problem-solving, communication, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
