What you will do
- Conduct active and passive fire protection surveys during construction and operational phases and produce technical reports.
- Perform external façade assessments, including PAS 9980 investigations and support for the EWS1 process.
- Survey fire stopping, fire compartmentation, and fire doors, identifying non-conformities against relevant standards.
- Provide third-party oversight of fire-stopping and compartmentation installations and discuss tested details with manufacturers.
- Support quality assurance, technical knowledge updates, and continuous improvement across the organisation.
- Manage client relationships, survey work, and workload independently while reporting to the Lead Surveyor and Divisional Director.
Requirements
- Degree in Building Surveying, Fire Engineering, Fire Safety Management, or a related discipline.
- Experience surveying new and existing buildings, including high-rise residential, offices, retail complexes, storage facilities, and historic buildings.
- Knowledge of UK fire safety legislation and standards, including Approved Document B, BS9999, BS9991, BS7974, and BS8214.
- Experience with fire compartmentation surveys, passive fire protection products, fire testing regimes, and manufacturers' installation details.
- Ability to write technical reports, work independently, manage workloads, and advise contractors on site.
- Full UK driving licence required.
