Data Center Hardware Technician (AI)

Location: Must be based on-site at the Lockport, NY facility

Salary: $59,250 - $123,125 per year

What you will do

• Maintain and repair rack-mount servers, storage units, and network equipment to ensure high uptime.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware and Layer 1–3 network issues across multiple infrastructure disciplines.
• Leverage AI-assisted log analysis and diagnostic utilities to rapidly isolate hardware faults and reduce MTTR.
• Automate daily maintenance workflows using AI coding tools such as Claude Code or Codex.
• Deploy operating systems, configure network switches, and manage host provisioning using in-house tools.
• Collaborate with site engineering and platform teams to execute complex change requests safely.

Requirements

• 2-year degree in a technical field (Computer Science, IT, Electronics) or equivalent practical experience.
• Knowledge of UNIX/Linux operating environments, including file system navigation and system administration commands.
• Understanding of TCP/IP networks, including Layer 1–3 switching, routing protocols, and structured cabling.
• Basic proficiency with scripting languages such as BASH, Python, or Perl for administration tasks.
• Familiarity with using AI tools or LLM prompts for generating CLI commands and debugging scripts.
• Ability to work on-site in Lockport, NY and participate in 24x7x365 shift rotations.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Hands-on experience managing and testing fiber physical plant infrastructure.
• Experience developing custom BASH or Python automation scripts for infrastructure at scale.
• Experience utilizing AI-driven monitoring or anomaly detection tools in a production environment.
