What you will do

• Lead the design and delivery of AI-powered product experiences for Notebooks and adjacent surfaces.
• Develop systems that combine deterministic capabilities with LLM experiences to ensure trustworthy customer outcomes.
• Partner with Product Managers to translate customer problems and roadmap goals into technical iterations.
• Build integrations that allow Datadog capabilities to operate within third-party AI platforms and conversational environments.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to establish AI engineering best practices.
• Own and operate reliable production backend services in the critical path of customer deployments.

Requirements

• 6+ years of relevant engineering experience.
• Proficiency in Go, Python, or similar systems programming languages.
• Hands-on experience delivering production AI-powered products using LLM technologies.
• Strong product mindset to connect technical decisions to customer outcomes and business impact.
• Experience managing model non-determinism through evaluation frameworks and testing strategies.
