TL;DR

Agent Experience Engineer (AI): Building and optimizing the agentic connective tissue across research and engineering teams with an accent on self-improvement loops, agent harness design, and backend service architecture. Focus on translating complex research workflows into scalable agentic flows and instrumenting trajectories to accelerate the development of frontier models.

Location: Remote (EMEA/East Coast). The team meets in Paris monthly for 3 days of in-person collaboration.

What you will do

• Partner with research, eval, and infrastructure teams to translate research workflows into self-improving agentic flows.
• Design and build robust backend services using Python and Go to power agentic systems.
• Drive the adoption of agent-native research workflows across the organization.
• Develop evaluations and datasets to measure and improve model self-improvement capabilities.
• Integrate with research infrastructure and build dashboards to track adoption and performance metrics.
• Collaborate with the agent harness and runtime team to define the technical roadmap.

Requirements

• Strong engineering fundamentals in backend architecture, API design, and database design.
• Proven experience leading ambiguous, cross-functional initiatives.
• Demonstrated experience building agentic systems, skills, or non-trivial harness engineering.
• Must be based in EMEA or East Coast time zones.
• Ability to collaborate in-person in Paris on a monthly basis.

Nice to have

• Understanding of ML research workflows including experiments, evals, training runs, and datasets.
• Experience with model training tools like W&B, Neptune, or Dagster.
